This pair of Spine Babies is an artwork that compliments the Spine Lady(2022). Children’s curious and mischievous nature is a fun way of expressing my feelings about the 3D prints of skeletal data. 3D digital technology expands the ideas of what is possible in many fields. For example, imaging the body’s interior can change perspectives, and working orders in medicine is impressive. However, with this artwork, I wanted to express the feeling of creative curiosity as it exists with technologies progressing and giving the creative mind something to ponder.
The divots in the spine fragments look like a face when the legs are attached to these charters, further expressing the silliness of childlike thinking.
